I’ll go ahead and let everyone know right now that I finally have a new job. I was looking for some time and am glad to finally be out of WTVH. I will start in a couple of weeks at Dairylea Cooperative in their IS department. My primary function will be to staff the helpdesk but I have a feeling that I may get to make use of some of my other skills such as web design and programming.
I had my second interview just yesterday and got the call this morning that they were offering me the position. All that is let to do is take a look at the literature that they will be getting to me and then I’m sure that there are some HR things that will need to be settled, but it sure is exciting to have a new job.
I can’t wait to hear what my current boss has to say tomorrow. I already spoke with him this morning to let him know that I would be leaving, but I am sure he will be in panic mode tomorrow once we talk things over a little more. Oh well, that’s what they get for not offering me a full time position years ago.
The title of my post is of course a play on the Got Milk? slogan. The reason I choose this is because Dairylea essentially handles over 50% of the milk that is sold in the Northeast region. From what I understand, their closest competitor handles around 12% of the milk that is sold in the Northeast region. They actually have their hand in many other things in the business but this is one that really stuck out in my mind and I figured it was worth it to share.
So at any rate, so long WTVH!
One Response on Got Hired?
I love the part of your post that states “i have been looking for some time.” I think what I find truly ironic is that many of us have been looking longer than you have and have set to set foot in an interview, let alone a call back. At any rate at least your current job was career related. While I would love to be wholeheartedly and enthusiastically excited about your new job, the fact that i will remain in Burlington CT, living at home, barely carving out an existance doesnt escape my mind-not that I can hold any of this against you as I do not have the contacts, the experiance, or perhaps the grades to cut it in the “real world.” So for those of you who you out there scraping by, trying to get out of your current situation, dreading everyday with no prospects, youve got me in the trenches there with you. Misery to comfort misery.
God forbid anything good happen to the rest of us.
